點解TSA不死(英文版)

on

當有10,000個家長想俾細路多操練,TSA 又點會消失?

Just happened to see the comment left a mum I know at a FB group. She wanted to get FREE English worksheets for her kid, who is now studying at a local private primary school.

I’ve met the kid before. Very smart, competitive and quite talented at art and music.

Chatted with the mum before, when we agreed at giving a happy childhood experience to our kid. We both found a preschool endorsing more on building confidence and social skills of the students, than giving homework and preparation for primary school life!

But when it came to the time of finding primary school, the mum has chosen a private school notorious for high academic pressure and strict discipline.

Quite a disappointment when I heard that. And I’m a bit naive to think we are the same kind of parent who can insist until the moments we can’t.

I have no idea if that school will join TSA, or BCA whatever. But then, after learning that she wanna give her extra work to do to brush her English skills, I do feel sorry for the kid.

While some parents oppose the TSA / BCA examination and form group to discuss with the officials in an attempt to ban it forever, the overwhelming welcome (with nearly 10,000 requests for FREE worksheets) from parents about the free worksheets is a real proof that their cause is doomed to fail.

Why? Cause HK parents are two-faced. On one hand they wanna get stress-free education but at the same time they ask for high quality education and the only way they think can achieve that is to do a lot of homework and attend after-school classes.

When a kid has no time to rest or daydream, there’s no way for her / him to succeed in future.

This standardized test will long live forever.
